Scott began studying piano at age 10 in 1991, began composing at 11, and at 12 he met with a professional recording studio to discuss the prospect of making a solo piano album. From age 12 to 17 he studied advanced classical piano at the university-preparatory division of the renown Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, earning a Piano Achievement Award and ultimately the Advanced Certificate in Piano. He firmly believes that his focused daily practice schedule - two to three hours a day during his teenage years - gave him the skills that helped him become a Semi-Finalist in the National YoungArts Foundation competition.
After graduating from Peabody Preparatory and McDonogh School in 1999, he studied for a year under a student of a student of a student…of Beethoven (!) at the internationally acclaimed Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. Then he moved back to Baltimore to study Biopsychology and Piano at University of Maryland Baltimore County, graduating in 2004.
Scott currently lives in Baltimore with his inspiring wife Shira and their 3 hilarious children.
